Windsor locations second in 4A staff standings – Greeley Tribune
Numerous local athletes competed in the finals of the Class 4A Girls Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday night at the Veterans Memorial Aquatics Center in Thornton.
Ultimately, Windsor placed second in the 30-team standings, albeit well behind first-place Heritage. The Wizards finished with 307 points, while Heritage had 636 points.
Greeley West finished 14th with 85 points.
The Wizards quartet of senior Nicole Reynolds, senior Amelia Perkins, junior Ella Evans and senior Megan Dodrill finished third (1:49.26) in the 200-yard medley relay. In the same event, Greeley West’s team of junior Kalynn Jennings, sophomore Akam Chahal, freshman Dani Douglass and junior Kyra Weinbender competed in the “B” finals and placed 18th overall (2:00.82).
Windsor senior Nicole Reynolds was the runner-up (52.19) in the 100 freestyle, and she finished third (24.00) in the 50 freestyle.
Windsor senior Karter Friesen placed third (2:06.60) in the 200 individual medley and sixth (1:05.79) in the 100 breaststroke. Wizards senior Delaney Engel was fifth (5:16.13) in the 500 freestyle and sixth (2:09.59) in the 200 individual medley.
Windsor’s Dodrill was seventh (1:58.52) in the 200 freestyle and eighth (53.92) in the 100 freestyle. Her teammate, Evans, was 12th (2:13.00) in the 200 individual medley and 11th (1:00.51) in the 100 butterfly.
Perkins was eighth (1:07.54) in the 100 breaststroke. Windsor freshman Sienna Hawbaker was 12th (1:08.72) in the 100 breaststroke and 14th (2:13.48) in the 200 IM.
The Wizards quartet of Friesen, Perkins, Hawbaker and Engel was sixth (1:42.62) in the 200 freestyle relay. Windsor’s team of Dodrill, Friesen, Engel and Reynolds finished fourth (3:34.34) in the 400 freestyle relay.
Greeley West’s Kourtney Smith placed fifth (1:56.76) in the 200 freestyle and seventh (58.58) in the 100 backstroke. Spartans senior Zoey Douglass was 19th (2:02.97) in the 200 freestyle and 14th (1:02.08) in the 100 butterfly.
Greeley West’s Dani Douglass was 16th (25.53) in the 50 freestyle. Spartans freshman Mady Douglass placed 20th (57.31) in the 100 freestyle.
Greeley West’s team of Weinbender, Smith, Mady Douglass and Zoey Douglass was eighth (1:42.85) in the 200 freestyle relay.

Eaton places 14th in 3A
Eaton had a few participants in Saturday’s finals, and the Reds ultimately scored 93 points and finished the 3A state meet 14th in the team standings. Evergreen won the state championship with 422 points.
Eaton freshman Maddux Chapman placed 16th (320) in 1-meter diving. Fellow Reds diver, junior Kaiya Sinkler, placed 23rd (208.40) but was unable to make it past the semifinals.
Eaton’s team of freshman Dharma Perkins, junior Caitlin Morgan, freshman Sophie Morgan and senior Alexis Bruntz was eighth (1:45.75) in the 200 freestyle relay. That same quartet placed 11th (1:58.55), while competing in the “B” finals of the 200 medley relay.
Caitlin Morgan was eighth (1:10.78) in the 100 breaststroke and 14th (2:22.89) in the 200 individual medley. Bruntz placed 13th (26.01) in the 50 freestyle.
Bruntz was 15th (56.55) in the 100 freestyle. Sophie Morgan was 20th (1:08.45) in the 100 butterfly.
Freshman Aayla Deter — representing Roosevelt’s first-year program — placed 19th (1:06.61) in the 100 backstroke.
