Two folks significantly injured in South Windsor automobile vs tree

Aug 26—SOUTH WINDSOR—Two people were transported to the hospital with multiple injuries after a single-car accident today around 5 pm, fire officials said.

Firefighters said the accident occurred on Troy Road where the vehicle crashed into a tree. Extrication was required to get the occupants out of the vehicle safely, they said.

The vehicle’s engine was thrown about 140 feet away from the point of impact with the tree, officials added.

The road was closed as crews worked to clean fluids from the scene of the crash and to allow police to investigate, officials said.
