Trial for 2020 Windsor homicide suspect to start subsequent week – Greeley Tribune

A 38-year-old man accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend more than two years ago in Windsor will go to trial next week.

Judge Timothy Kerns on Wednesday afternoon confirmed both parties in the case are prepared for the trial of Kaman Morgan, who’s accused of killing 37-year-old Brie Ann Biondolillo of Greeley in February 2020.

A couple of issues are still pending, including plans by defense attorneys Amanda Bleiler and Travis Weiner to object to a jail call prosecutors intend to play before the jury. Bleiler said they believe portions should be redacted on grounds of it being hearsay evidence, using other people’s statements.

Assistant District Attorney Robb Miller said they believe the issues can be addressed after jury selection. Bleiler said they don’t expect any lengthy motions at this point, but they will bring it up with the court if something comes up.

Kerns said they will seat 14 jurors, with two alternates. Pending resolution in another trial occupying Kerns’ usual courtroom in Division 11, Morgan’s trial is set to be held in Division 12.

The jury trial is set to begin at 8:30 am Wednesday.
