Gilbey’s Bar & Restaurant Eton
Located on the High Street of Eton, close to the River Thames and between the historic buildings of Eton College and Windsor Castle.
Gilbey’s is the perfect place to meet for lunch, dinner, afternoon tea or simply a drink at the bar. This year they have also opened a stunning top floor studio suite for guest accommodation with rooftop views to Windsor Castle.
Reviews: “We stumbled across this place on a visit to Windsor. Crossing the bridge into Eton it’s one of the first places you come to on the left hand side of the High Street and we were so glad we’d wandered a little further afield for a bit to eat.
“The three course lunch menu offered excellent value for money and everything was delicious. A goats cheese and apple salad was full of surprises like a sweet cured cucumber and their ‘fish and chips’ was fantastic. No claggy batter but a delicious light panko crumb on the fish and some of the biggest (and tastiest) twice cooked chips you’ll ever see.
“Leave the ‘all you can eat’ buffets and chain restaurants behind and support this great little bistro. Great food, great staff and a great location.”
