Nov 19 Windsor Meals & Gas Financial institution Fundraiser at Windsor Ace {Hardware}
With the holidays just weeks away, A community-minded Windsor Center business is encouraging area residents to step up and come assist those in town who can use some help during these challenging times.
On Saturday, November 19th between 9 am and 2 pm, Windsor Ace Hardware at 296 Broad St. will host its annual Fall fundraiser for the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank, an event that also offers donors a shopping discount inside the store that same day. Anyone who comes in and contributes at least $5 gets a 5-gallon utility bucket along with 20 percent off on almost anything in the store that fits in it.
Volunteers from the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank will be at the Windsor Ace Hardware entrance in the Geissler’s Supermarket parking lot to personally accept donations and thank everyone for their generosity.
“We invite everyone in our community to stop by on November 19th to support the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank,” explains Scott Hoffman, owner of Windsor Ace Hardware. “Since many look for a way to share a little ‘giving spirit’ this time of year, we hope to raise many dollars and lots of public awareness for this important local effort.” For more information about the November 19th fundraiser, call Windsor Ace Hardware at 860-688-8373.
The Windsor Food & Fuel Bank is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in 1967 as the Windsor Community Service Council (WCSC). The all-volunteer board along with our partners at Windsor Social Services, works to accomplish our mission of ensuring that no Windsor resident goes hungry, is cold, or is without basic necessities. The generosity of local individuals, businesses, civic and religious organizations provides for 95 percent of the WF&FB’s annual operating budget. For more information, visit www.windsorfoodbank.org.
