EAST WINDSOR — Firefighters quickly extinguished a blaze that broke out Wednesday morning in a detached garage, threatening the home nearby, fire officials said.
Around 3:30 am, fire crews from the Warehouse Point and Broad Brook fire stations were sent to a reported structure fire on Scantic Road.
Officials said the first fire engine at the scene confirmed the blaze coming from a detached garage/pool house that was fully involved in flames. Crews immediately stretched hose lines to knock down the bulk of the fire. The house was about 25 feet away.
With the help of additional firefighters from South Windsor, the fire was quickly extinguished without any injuries, officials said. The Windsor Locks Fire Department provided station coverage while units were operating at the blaze.
